The world's first ever laser weapon — it can "kill" threatening and airborne drones — ready for action
The laser, known as the Laser Weapons System (LaWS),  is entirely functional and can shoot with am awesome accuracy. The LaWS is currently deployed aboard the USS Ponce, an amphibious transport ship, in the Persian Gulf.
Its beams are silent and invisible and travelers at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second, or about 300,000 kilometers per seconds)  it's about 50,000 times the speed of an incoming ballistic missile.
It has temperature heated to thousands of degrees that would penetrate a obstacles even in water, might even mean fewer casualties in combat.
